Asexuality is known as the “invisible orientation”. That has to change.

A big hurdle that we have to overcome to achieve all our aims is that most people don’t realise that asexuality exists. If you don’t know it exists, why would you think things need to change?
And things do need to change. We need legal recognition and protection; we need to educate; we need to spread tolerance and understanding. Therefore, we need to show that we exist.

We present to you Exhibit A.

The campaign

We have produced three posters. All you need to do is to print one out, take a photo of yourself with it, and post it online. Put it on Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Facebook… everywhere and anywhere you like.

We have three posters for you to choose from:

You’ll notice that there is a lot of whitespace on these posters.

This gives you a lot of creative freedom. Want to add your romantic orientation? Go for it! Are you grey or demi? Show it off! Not from the UK? It doesn’t matter — put your flag on it! Always looking for an opportunity to doodle? To your heart’s content!
The posters are released under a CC-BY 4.0 licence: you can edit and share it as much as you like, but please refer back to us: we can’t wait to see your creations!

Please mention us when you take a photo. We suggest adding #ExhibitA, #maapleuk and #asexuality tags to your uploads (and that is sufficient attribution for us!) but feel free to add your own!

Note — If you want to hide your face and your identity, that’s cool. You can submit them to us anonymously on Tumblr and you don’t even have to have an account. Just head over to our Tumblr submissions page and send them there. We’ll put them on our Tumblr page, so please make sure that you’re ok with the photo before you submit!
